Very interesting article, Walter. If you don't know the book, "Nabokov's Favorite Word is Mauve," by Ben Blatt, you MUST read it. He takes books and runs statistical analysis on them leading to insights about word patterns and what translates to commercial success, etc.

And I keep telling my husband that if I die, to make sure to give my books to someone who will care about all the marginalia I write in them. (I have my own private conversations with the author of the book with notes and markings - usually in colored ink - in the margins of the pages.)
