Thank you for this. It made me re-think my approach to book reviews. I write in-depth, long "reviews" of both mainstream and indie books. I do it for fun. I'm passionate about books and stories and writing about them is a natural outpouring of my enthusiasm.

Your article reminded me that it might be beneficial to do much shorter, synopsis kind of reviews on Amazon and/or Goodreads.

When my book was released through a small press, we decided to price it accordingly. I hated to give away my hard, hard work and fervent belief in my book for a couple of bucks. But your comments have made me re-evaluate my pricing and consider running an author promotion at a much lower price.
