A newbie’s collection of curated pieces

I worked for over a week on my first submission to Medium in October of 2019 and was thrilled when it was curated. Published in a major publication on my very first time with an audience of ZERO, it didn’t do me a lot of good! But I did get a taste of that heady elixir called curation.

Since that moment, I obsess about whether a little green dot will appear in my notifications announcing curation of my latest post. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it doesn’t. I wish I knew the exact science to it, but I don’t.

In the absence of an absolute strategy for guaranteed curation, my goal is to craft thoughtful, heart-felt posts with cited links, strong writing, and a unique viewpoint and hope for the best.

Even with curation, my audience is tiny, but it grows a little every day, and that’s fine. I’m a writer for the long-haul, and curation on whichever pieces are chosen will help me in the future.

I hope these pieces from my first top-ten list will be helpful:
