I don't think anyone has the answers yet. I guess it's possible that he hoped an unknown author that he targeted became a bestseller, but even then, the agent, the publishing house, and the author would all know - and have proof - that this guy didn't legally possess the rights to those works. It was just so strange!

It may be that he was just a psychotic guy with delusions of grandeur??????
