I agree that any author would write a piece differently decades after the original, but does that mean that someone else has the right to change the original?
Yes. I agree that the meaning isn't changed with these editing changes, but would it be richer if those original words had not be excised?
I would also counter with the thought that just because retro-editing hasn't happened yet in music and movies, doesn't mean it won't, especially since many movies stem from books?
