Hi!

I was also an English teacher, and at the advent of electronic readers, I was convinced that MORE kids would get excited about reading…that MORE books would be consumed because now they could do it in a format they were familiar with…screens. Boy, was I wrong! All research shows that comprehend more when reading on the page. It also shows that people “readers” prefer to read books in print. While the ebook market exists, it’s not nearly as large as had hoped at the beginning. I thought I would do all my reading digitally because it costs less, it’s portable, and I would have room for all my reading material. But twenty years later, I have gone back to print books where I can notate, highlight, and make marginalia with my hands. Paper just suits me so much more. There’s something so comforting about pulling a remembered book off my shelf and opening it to touch a favorite page.

Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to respond. My best!
